Laura - Kathy and Genkicat - I guess I will try... but technically you're not supposed to wear wigs for these things, you gotta go au naturel. Hmmm. Just very depressing. And don't get me started on the no eyebrows and eyelashes thing. Ugh.
That's total BS, if they let people wear headscarves for religious reasons (at least they do in the States), they damn well better let you wear a chemo wig. Besides, your wig looks so much like your own hair did, they night not even notice.
Tuesday - I called their office yesterday and they said wigs are not allowed. Which means I would have to lie, er, omit, that I am wearing one. Pisses me off because I don't want to be put in that position either.
Sayre - I SHOULD'VE thought of that! Now it's too late, I don't want to have a #1 buzz cut on the picture either. But last week, before I chopped it all off, I could've. I'm so mad at myself for not realizing it. I plan ahead pretty well, I should've thought of that. Arrrrgggg. Nothing I can do about it now though.
Hi Michelle....you do look cute with your short hair but whatever you decide is good. I can't imagine that they are going to grab your hair to see if it's really yours and I can't remember if they ask you that....since it's a renewal they probably won't. You can always claim ignorance if they do...how are you feeling?? xx
I had the same situation - didn't know I couldn't wear a wig...four years later it is not the wig that bothers me about the picture - but my "puffiness" from the chemo steroids....life goes on...in the end - no one really cares but you....
Michelle, Oh my, I so relate to this, as so many of us do. This darn cancer "journey" (there's that word again, ugh) is really a "hair journey" as well for many of us. No matter what you do, you will look just fine. I would probably wear a wig, but that's just me. Then if someone says something, take it off and give them a moment, the expressions on their faces would be priceless, don't you think?? I think I might have a hair update post in mind now after reading your last posts...Thanks for sharing about this topic.

I say wear the wig.
I was thinking the same thing as Laura. But I support what ever you decide/makes the most sense to you. :)
LOL! Wear the wig!

I wonder if they would let you renew early? You look pretty cute with your bald head!

Wear the wig. Stick it to the man. If anyone has anything to say about it, ask them how their cancer treatment went.

I would have it taken with the wig on.
I had a friend who, with a doctors note was able to retake her picture. That was in ON but I would ask regardless of your province/territory.

Oh! That is a bummer! Can you borrow a wig from someone?

Bonjour! My name is Valerie-Marie - I come from ATM's blog - I would suggest you to handle it like my Mum did: wear a wig and don't tell it.
((hugs))
